As a former music teacher and sound engineer, I came to academia late. I am now in the third year of my PhD journey. While constructing my thesis I am also tutoring and serving as the HDR Representative for the Gold Coast Campus. When at home my efforts at reading and writing are generally foiled by my two delightful daughters.

Thesis & Candidature Review Milestone (TCRM)
Colonisation at the Crossroads:$

This thesis argues that the technology-progress Enlightenment mentality that developed in seventeenth century Europe continues to give form to ideas of nature and society in western thought today. This in turn continues to inform the settler-Indigenous relationship in Australia. However, the emergence of diverging perspectives about whether technological advance should be arrested/redirected or accelerated suggest new interpretations of technology-as-progress, and this has important implications for Australia’s colonial relationships.
